Abortion is a controversial issue that has been around for many years, and will be around for many years to come. It is the termination of pregnancy in women. This is an issue of whether or not to have the baby or to get rid of it.

One argument that people who are pro-choice argue is that "a woman has the right to choose whether abortion is right for her." (Internet 1) The court rules that not allowing a woman to have an abortion "would be an unconstitutional invasion of a women's privacy." (Internet ) This means we are taking her rights of freedom, of free will away. Not allowing a woman to be able to get rid of her baby is like not allowing people to eat. It's the woman's body, and she is free to do what she will with it. People are allowed to have stuff done to their body, for example, body piercing. Why isn't it okay for a woman to do something to her body, terminate the pregnancy?

People who are pro-life would argue against the statement, "a woman has the right to choose whether abortion is right for her." (Internet 1) They would argue, " every fetus has the right to live and deserves the chance to become a human being." (Internet 1) If you are going to talk about rights, you should not forget the rights of the fetus inside the mother. Although many will argue that at that early stage of pregnancy, the fetus is nothing more than a mass of cells, and is not considered a living human being.

(Genesis 6) God is saying that if you kill an innocent baby, then you are killing Him. God is in every one of us, including the unborn child. The bible also says, "Cursed is the man who accepts a bribe to kill an innocent person." (Deut. 75) God is saying that it is wrong for doctors to kill an innocent baby for money. The bible is against abortion, and if God didn't want the baby to live he would take care of it in his own ways; for example, miscarriage.

I feel that abortion is wrong to a certainty. I believe that up to 7 weeks of conception, all that is in the mother's womb is a mass of cells. Doctor's even argue about this issue also, whether it is living or not at that early stage. After at least weeks, I feel that abortion should not be allowed. The fetus has already got a heartbeat, and has arms and legs. If you don't terminate the pregnancy from within -7 weeks then you shouldn't do it at all. I've never had to deal with abortion personally, but I feel that if a woman does not want to have the baby, that abortion, only up to at least 7 weeks, should be legal. I think that if the woman did not want a baby, she should not have put herself in that risk; but, she is human just like all of us, and we all make mistakes. If she doesn't want the baby then she could give it up for adoption, but I can see where teens don't want to go through the pregnancy process. They don't want their friends and family to see their mistake that they made. When you are pregnant, everybody knows, because it shows. But if you have an abortion, the only people that will know are the people that you tell. Teens will sometimes use abortion as a birth control. I don't feel that this is right, but I can understand why they want an abortion.

Overall, abortion should be legal, based on the fact that women should have the right to do what they will with their body. I don't feel that abortion is necessarily right, but we shouldn't make it illegal for women to have the opportunity to do so.
